Early October. Sugar Beach is but a quiet memory of a warm Summer past. The children and students have gone back to school. Parents and adults alike are back at work but the Pink Umbrellas still stand overlooking Lake Ontario and Centre Island. This  urban beach park opened in 2010 in Toronto's eastern Bayfront. The beach functions as a waterfront public space for relaxation, leisure, and social activities. It features a sandy beach with ornamental lighting, umbrellas and Muskoka chairs.
